After just about a year of waiting, the Frail Walls #3 is out! A split release with the amazing TPOS label, it is the super awesome, super limited split 7" lathe between power electronics artist Wolverine Carcass and improv space noise punk rockers Ultrabunny! Hand lathed by the mysterious Peter King on the equally as mysterious island of New Zealand onto super duper clear 7 inches with no labels, limited to a paltry sum of 50! Wowzers!

Wolverine Carcass is Logan Butler, one half of Wicked King Wicker, and member of Apocolyptic Youth and Seedbed, offers up two tracks of industrial power electronic noise, representing his first and latest recordings (at the time of the record being pressed). Golden Spoon is a delightful romp through a post-apocalyptic wasteland were everything is destroyed except for a TV broadcasting an old recording of the greatest wrestler of all time Ric Flair preforming a monologue about his vast wealth, almost an projection of the cause of the worlds suffering. Maybe. The second is a bass-throbbing, voice scraping assault about the crumbling of ones sanity called Frail Walls. These cuts are ready for the AM radio!

Ultrabunny offer up one track of their signature sludgy noisy punk entitled "Beef Runny". A pounding monstrous kraut rock like rhythm section provides the backdrop for a delay and reverb soaked guitar, and psychotic wailing vocals build and build to the point of insanity. All in the best way possible of course. Recorded live and improvised live, this recording will pummel your ears and shake your booty all at the same time. If we must compare these guys to anyone, think Flipper, Hawkwind, Butthole Surfers, and Funkadelic fucking a pile of kryptonite and making a baby and you might have a starting point.

As stated earlier this beauty is limited to 50 copies (10 of which play at 45RPM and have an alternate Ultrabunny cut; will you be one of the lucky ones to get these? Probably not!) After six long months of waiting, they are finally here, the glorious poly-carbonate discs hand cut with grooves to truly make your head shake. This co-release from Frail Walls Productions and Dirgehead Distribution Company offers up some truly hard to listen to sonic art in 100% DIY fashion. So DIY in fact, that Rick Ta Life himself has weeped at the mere thought of this 7". Every aspect of this record was handmade, from the silkscreened cover, to the hand cutting of each record by the mythical Peter King, and of course the music carved into the grooves.
Musically the artist truly are wearing their Sunday best, or something. Reaching. brings 5 minutes of low end oscillator violence with cascading walls of skree. Satisfying and harsh. A Dilemma if you will. J. Briglia, L. Butler, D. Schoonmaker, J. Williams (aka BBSW, or Fucked By The State, or FBTS, or soon to be called Seedbed or something) return fresh off of their split with Agathocles and deliver a harsh 3 and a half minutes. Beginning with solid minute and a half harsh noise wall that slowly delves into a basement black metal meets hardcore punk jam. Four vocalists collide with tin can drums and cold guitar tones while everything is drenched in a tape saturated veneer, incredibly hard to listen to.
Probably the most interesting aspect of these releases (Wolverine Carcass/ultrabunny split 7" lathe coming out once the covers are made! keep a look out!) is that each one is absolutely unique. After browsing through all the records not a single one looks the same, or for that matter sounds the same. Obviously that can be attributed to the hand cutting of each one. So each record is a truly unique piece.

You read correctly! My buddy over at Crushing Cassettes put this out for us, and dammit is it awesome! Five total tracks spanning over 30 minutes 3 from OD, and 2 from WC. OD brings his signature slash and burn noise style for the first two tracks and a bit of porn love for the third. WC explores a more spacious sound but at the same time is suffocating with his use of panning. Like the track on the recent Cantankerous bizcard, just harsher.

So it's been a while for any Frail Walls activity. Some may see that as a good thing but whatever. Anyway. I have two new releases to offer the dirty, noise crazed masses of the world.

WOLVERINE CARCASS - Why Am I Doing This: A Collection Of Unreleased And Out Of Print Tracks 2007 - 2009

First off is Frail Walls Productions #4, its a release by Wolverine Carcass aka yours truly, the humble narrator of this internet information readie thing. In a desperation move after realizing that He was out of hardcopy CDs to sell as merch at his first live action, Wolverine Carcass whipped up a crystalline compact audio disc chock full of goodies. This CDr is a hodge-podge of various tracks that have been released and aren't available or that were recorded and never used for anything OR(!) early versions of stuff that was released OR(!!) stuff that was used as parts of other stuff. It's all very confusing. Regardless you are getting 12 tracks of power electronics + harsh noise that surely will satisfy the craving you have been having for said genres. At least satisfy it for about 50 minutes, then you will probably start the disc over. It's that good!

Wolverine Carcass bizcards, Apocolyptic Youth downloads!

I just got my copies of the Wolverine Carcass bizcards that Carey at Cantankerous Records put out! I only have 6 copies out of the 20 he put out, so get one now before they are gone forever! They are hand numbered and amazing. Heres a pic:

What you get is one new track by Wolverine Carcass, made of entirely synthesized white noise (and vocals). It's a hypnotizing jam that was made out of total experimentation and a complete disregard for the listeners equilibrium. The panning fucks with your mind, wile psychotic vocals tie the straps that hold you to your bed in the insane asylum. Or it just sounds like noise. You decide. $3! Shoot me an email if you want one. In other news, Apocolyptic Youth finished up a new track; our hopeful entry for the indie wrestling federation Inter Species Wrestling out of Canada's opening theme music. It's a sludgy romp filled with AY's signature sloppiness and general lack of interest for things like "writing music" and "talent". Instrumentation for this track was as follows: Drums, Bass, Theremin, Chains, Buckets, Sleds, Bomber Snaps, and Vocals. In the end it sounds like Buzzov-en without guitar with a wrestling letter chant at the end. I think it turned out quite well. Download it here:

Hello. My name is Logan Butler. I am in charge of Frail Walls Productions. I also make music under the name of Wolverine Carcass, as well as being a member of Apocolyptic Youth, Wicked King Wicker, and Briglia,ButlerSchoonmaker,Williams. I set up this blog a while ago, and really haven't done anything with it, but I have decided that this will be the official Frail Walls info page. Hell, I may provide links for downloads here to, since that's the cool thing to do nowadays.

For this first post I will be providing some good news. As I type this, I have 2 lathes being cut as we speak. The first would be Frail Walls #2 (which is a split release with Dirgehead Distro) and it's the Briglia,Butler,Schoonmaker,Williams/Reaching. split 7". It's going to be limited to 40 hand numbered copies of clear 45 RPM goodness. BBSW's side is a noisy blast then a slow/fast black metal/grind track. Reaching.'s side is one all to short power electronics wall. Should be killer, with sweet silver on black artwork.

In addition to that great news, Frail Walls #3, the other lathe being cut, is a split release with Connecticut's legendary(?) TPOS label (the same label that has released records by GG Allin, Antiseen, Thor, and many more). This one is a split between Ultrabunny and the Wolverine Carcass. Ultrabunny, for those of you out of the loop, is the re-imagining of the Bunny Brains, a noisy improvisational punk group. For more info on the Bunny Brains, I suggest you pick up the 4xCD box on Narnack Records. What you do need to know is they were extremely challenging and prolific, never playing the same song twice. Ultrabunny continues in that tradition, but employing the stripped down approach of 3 members (at least every time I've seen them play live). They improvise pretty much everything and record everytime they play out, releasing super limited live CDs of just about ever show. Their sound is equal parts Hawkwind and Flipper, with a peppering of bands like The White Mice or Pissed Jeans. Their side of this 7" is a cut from a live set, super aggressive and psychedelic, in one word: schizophrenic, but in the best way possible. The Wolverine Carcass side is 2 heaping slabs of noise. One cut is the first track recorded under the guise of Wolverine Carcass in which the name for this label came from, "Frail Walls". It's a low end synth, cut up distortion kinda industrial blast that Prurient puts out nowadays. The second cut is the latest (at the time the master was sent out) track from WC, 10 seconds of noise manipulated and chopped up and re-distorted over and over, then vocals are provided by the greatest pro-wrestler of all time, Ric Flair. I won't get any further into in than that, let me just say it must be heard to be believed.

I expect the lathes to be here any day now, and the covers soon after. I guess just check back here for more info.

Also I will upload some of my old bands stuff for people to enjoy, as well as OOP Wolverine Carcass and Apocolyptic Youth stuff.
